White cake 3 cups flour (sifted) 1 1/2 of sugar, 1 of sweet milk, 1 egg. Two tablespoons of butter, two teaspoonfuls baking powder + a little essence of lemon. Beat the butter + sugar to a cream, then add the milk, the egg + essence. Then two cups of the flour + lastly the remainder of the flour into which the baking powder has been stirred.
