Tuesday July 11th 1916 I was up early to do some baking and get my dinner started. The girls came out before noon. It got very warm in afternoon. Rob came for them about five oclock. Wednesday July 12th 1916 It was very warm. I did some fancy work and sewing I took very little time for meals. Will does not feel well. The folks on a long Auto trip to Cedar Rapids and Amana. Thursday July 13th 1916 I washed a few pieces and got the dinner. I ironed them and slept awhile in afternoon. I dressed before supper and went to the opening of Chautauqua home at 9:30. a letter from Lydia. Jane and Catherine are there. I wrote Lydia today. Friday July 14th 1916 I was busy with baking most of the forenoon. I slept awhile in afternoon then went down to Hatties at 4:15. I had supper with she and Bertha Williams. Later I rode to town with Rob and out to Chautauqua awhile It is very warm. I came home at 4:30 Saturday July 15th 1916 I washed and ironed quite a lot of things before noon. I went to town at 2:15 and out to Chautauqua. Back to town to come home. The head is something awful. I got home at 5:40. Spent the evening on the porch with Will. The Whetstones,Blanche Jellison, Robert and Bertha Williams to Des Moines in the Auto. Sunday July 16th 1916 It was very warm. I did not attempt to go hear Mrs Uglie preach. I slept two hours in the afternoon and went to Chautauqua in evening. Very interesting. I came home with Mrs Robinson and Mrs Pointain. beautiful night.
