Friday September 15th 1916 We rode all forenoon on through sage brush deserts after crossing one Mountain range. We made a hurried change of cars at Ogden and got of the train a few moments at Pocatello. went to bed early. good meals on the train today. I remembered it was 34 years today since Bro Rob died. Saturday September 16th 1916 When we woke up we were in Boise. we got up right away and I called Mattie on the phone. She told us which car to take but Gerta met us before we got on it. were jist in time for breakfast. We walked down town later to see the stores and the market. In afternoon took street car ride. Visited in evening and went to bed early. Sunday September 17th 1916 Spent the forenoon visiting I wrote Lydia and Mary Woolf. We had a fine Auto trip in afternoon. Evening visiting. Monday September 18th 1916 I read a little and walked down town with Will. After I got back packed the suit case again. Edna & Little Martha went with us to the depot. Gerta got there before we left at 4:10. It was quite arm. We ate supper from the [bar?] Tuesday September 19th 1916 When we woke in the morning we were near Columbia River. The scenery from there to Portland as grand. We reached there in time for dinner. Took a walk up town. We left there at 4:10. Reached Charlies at 7:25. Effie and Dorothy came to the depot to visit with us. Scott & Lizzie met us at Doty and we were soon at their home.
