Wednesday May 23rd 1917 I was busy with bread baking and other house work in forenoon. I was in the yard some after dinner. Will busy cutting the yard. Mollie came out at 4:30 to stay all night. we had a pleasant evenings visit. Thursday May 24th 1917 I baked cookies and did some extra work about the house. I went down at 1:15 to attend the funeral of Ada Songster Kennard at The Christian Church. Later I went to the cemetery and took lilacs to the graves. After I came back was at Dr Smiths office for medicine. Rob took me over to Hatties at five oclock. Mollie Stevens was there for the night. I came home at 8:30. The men began planting today. Friday May 25th 1917 Will helped me do a big washing today. I had to do some cleaning up after dinner and washed some in the yard. Fannie has help at last. Ott started to Texas last night to be gone nearly a week. I had a letter from LeGrand. Hattie went home with Mollie tonight. Saturday May 26th 1917 I did the ironing and other work in forenoon. sewed and did fancy work in afternoon. neither of us went down town. Read in evening. The Painters did not come today. Sunday May 27th 1917 Slept very late but got ready for church. Rob & Cora came out and I rode in with them. I come home to get dinner. I wrote to Lizzie Lindley & Lydia. Then read in "Oliver Twist" Hattie came home from Aunt Ellens this afternoon.
