Sunday May 25th 1919 The folks could not go to Burlington but went away in the Auto for the day. I was in bed all afternoon. I slept some wrote to Lizzie Lindley after I had some supper. Folks home at 9 oclock. Monday May 26th 1919 I ripped up my brown dress in AM and I to town with Cora. She took Birdie to the 2:45 train. Later met Cora's Mother and Uncle. I came home with them. Hattie to P E O supper. Home about ten oclock. weather warmed. Tuesday May 27th 1919 Hattie had the folks here for dinner. I went to Coralville at 3:15. I did some things there. Home with Mr Grier about six oclock got my supper. The folks to Cedar Rapids. Late [home?] Wednesday May 28th 1919 I sewed most of the day. Hattie & I went down to Ott where we all had supper. The folks went to town to hear the band play. I came home sat on the porch talked to Dr Allen. Thursday May 29th 1918 Robs birthday. They took Coras company to Grinnell where The Jellisons met them. I had a most unhappy day. How I do miss Will. I grieved all day long. was in bed. Friday May 30th 1919 Decoration day! The girls took flowers to the cemetery. How little I thought last year Will['s] grave would be there this. Hattie went to Lone Tree after dinner with Ott & Fannie in Mr. Reece car. I wrote The Reed girls and Joe Woolf. We had picnic supper at Otts, stayed till bed time. a letter from Lydia. Ralph McCallister has been there.
