Saving...
Friday December 19th 1919 It was late when I got at my sewing. Vene got the machine ready for me. I kept at it all afternoon. Edith got home from school early and Laura is done now for the hollidays. crotcheted in the evening. Saturday December 20th 1919 The folks were busy all day with ironing, baking, and cleaning as the weather was much milder. I wrote Rob Whetstone & Tishie in forenoon. I sewed on my waist the rest of the day. No mail not even a paper. Sunday December 21st 1919 This date last year was Saturday and I finished the work at the home in Coralville that Ruth Hedges and I had been there to do. Oh the grief of it. I was prostrated when I got back that night. a year has passed. I am stronger in body but the loneliness with Will gone is the same. The girls went to church. I walked out to the cemetery. The work is not quite done there. Monday December 22nd 1919 There was a beautiful white frost over every thing this morning. Laura and I went to Peoria at 10:45. Soon after we got there had dinner at a caffeteria and did a lot of going around for errands Laura had to do. We walked up to Stellas for something left there. Came home tired. visited awhile after supper and went to bed. I wrote Hattie a card in Peoria.
