Friday October 23rd 1914 We were up in good time to get breakfast before we left at 8:15 for home. We were obliged to travel on a local train. The train was behind time most of the day. We decided to stay all night in Columbus Junction. I telephone Fannie that we would be home at noon tomorrow. Saturday October 24th 1914 We had a good night's rest. When we reached home at noon Cora met us and we took all the baggage over Hatties. We all went to town in the afternoon to see the big crowd for S U I home coming and ball game. Hattie & I were down to Otts all evening. The rest of the folks went to town. Ott has had Emerson Hough for a guest. Sunday October 25th 1914 I kept house while the folks went to church. Will went up to the house. he got a letter for me. Mattie Briggs had written Sep 8th asking us to come and visit her. I wrote some letters. Will & I rode with Otts folks in the Auto. Spent the evening at the old home. weather cooler. Monday October 26th 1914 Hattie & Cora did washing. I went to town to get some groceries sent over with Hatties. Will came up home to get the little waggon to get the baggage home. I came out at 1:30 and was till four oclock unpacking. We got the lights connected up so I cleaned up the kitchen and had our suppers ready and could stay here at home tonight. Were tired went to bed early.
