Saving...
Friday August 12th 1904 The men stacked the oats on out own farm today. They worked very hard and did not get in to supper till nearly night. I had a very busy day. Will churned for me very early and I did quite a washing in the forenoon besides getting dinner. Was busy most of the afternoon. we were all tired and went to bed early. It has been a warm day. we need rain very much. I wrote to Joe Woolf. Saturday August 13th 1904 I had ironing and bread baking and got dinner for Walter and I. Will went to Cedar Rapids on the excursion as the new R.R. was formally opened today with a picnic mid-way. It was a very warm day. The steam cars took the travel from this end of the line. We are going to enjoy this R.R. in more ways than one. I read and sewed in afternoon. Sunday August 14th 1904 I was busy with the work most of the forenoon. After an early dinner I went down to Otts on the car and staid till nearly six oclock. Will and Mary Woolf were here in the evening. They had been to Karnes. Mrs Karnes died yesterday afternoon. Will and I sat on the porch and talked watching the cars pass.
