Saving...
2nd Friday, January 2nd 1874 Not nearly so pleasant a day as yesterday. I was busy all the forenoon regulating things up stairs. In the afternoon I sewed a little and helped do the work. Harvey Adams from Washington Co. took dinner with me. Saturday January 3rd 1874 We finished the baking before noon today. Weather warm for the time of year, prospect of rain. About the middle of the afternoon Harvey Adams came after Emma and Hattie to take them down the valley to a party tonight. Just as they were ready to start Owen came. We had a very quiet time of it here at home in the evening. As Charlie was away having started to Chicago yesterday morning. It rained at night. Sunday January 4th 1874 A cold disagreable day. The day was wet and long for we were so late getting up. I read some and wrote a letter to J. J. Huebner and one to Father.
