24th Wednesday February 25th 1874 It was some what moderate this morning so I washed I got done before noon. In the afternoon I was busy doing housework and getting supper for Mother was away over to town doing trading. Winnie and Harriet went out sleigh riding in the evening and they were hardly out of sight till Owen came in to play cards with me. I enjoyed very much. After he went to his room I read some. Thursday February 26th 1874 Mother and I worked awful hard today. She fried out lard while I did the house work. I went to town just before supper was gone about an hour I read all the evening. Friday February 27th 1874 Mother Rob and Lee went to the valley today I ironed in the forenoon and got all done in time to get the dinner. After dinner I prepared every thing for supper cleaned the house up nicely and dressed before Mother came home. In the evening Rob Winnie Owen and I went to society. Had a
