Saving...
Tuesday December 25th 1906 Christmas day. It was clear and cold. We had our breakfast and when Martie and the children came the presents were distributed from the table. I got a nice silver spoon and a collar. We had lots of fun with the toys for the children. The girls got most of the dinner which was excellent. We spent the whole afternoon and evening talking. Wednesday December 26th 1906 I went up to Mrs Jane Woolfs about ten oclock and then both of us on to John Woolfs. I took dinner at Jennie Culbertsons. Lizzie Duncan was there too. We had such a good visit. Called at Mrs Hueston Shurts and after supper at Andrews. We had a jolly time. It was nine oclock when we went home. Thursday December 27th 1906 I went over to Venes after a late breakfast. It had rained in the night and there was a heavy fog. I spent the day there till 4.30. The friends were at the depot to see me start home. Laura had been to Springfield and got of the train I got on. I had an hour to wait at Peoria and the train was waiting at R.I. I went over home in a hack where I found a warm room waiting for me. I have had such a good time.
