Sunday August 17th 1902
It rained much of the forenoon. I baked a 
cake and did other work. I wrote to Vene in 
the evening. Ida Vaughn was here in the afternoon. 
Monday August 18th 1902
There was a terrible storm last night. So 
much lightning. I did not do much of any 
thing today. It was warm and I did not feel well. 
Tuesday August 19th 1902
I went down as far as home this morning with 
Will when he went to town to get a keg for my 
pickles. I visited with Laura most of the 
afternoon. Otts folks went to Davenport this 
morning. we had a terrible rain early in the evening.
Wednesday August 20th 1902
I put my pickles away today and dried 
some apples. The river is very high and 
the creek over the road. The men can do 
nothing but mow some weeds. I sewed 
in the afternoon. I sent regrets to Mrs Ballard
