72 A perfume against ye plague. Divers good Physicians opinions are yt to burn every morning in a chafing dish of coals tar is most excellent against the plague also put in a little wine vinegar to ye tar. It is most excellent and approved. A Restorative Broth Take a young Cock or Capon [flea?] it and cut it in quarters take out ye bones and chop the flesh somewhat small put it into an earthen pot of 3 quarts with a close cover and pour on it a quart of good red wine and a pint of red rosewater and put one handfull of currants ten dates stoned.
