28th Thursday Feb 29th 1872 Stopped at Folsoms this morning Mollie said she had a very good time last night though there was only about half there that was invited Charlie and Hattie did not come home last night, When I came home from school Hattie was at home Charlie had gone back down to the valley He was quite out of patience Mother said I went to town this eve got some more yarn for that scarf got me some new stocking and handkerchiefs was into the store Mr Huebner was there alone he put some candy and nuts in my sachel He said Charlie gave him fits and that the butter scotch dodge did not work worth a cent just when I was starting home something so funny happened Well two months of the new year have passed away I wonder where I will be and what I will be doing when we have another 29th of February This has been a very peculiar day snowed part of the time and part of the time the sun has shone I was real disappointed that I did not get a letter from Pete today And I thought I would have one from Bertie too
