38th Monday March 18th 1872 Charlie went after Mother today It was real chilly and cold though it was not storming They got home in time for Charlie to go to John Remicks funeral which took place at the Universalist church Miss Chapin preached the sermon and the text was the first four verses of the 23rd psalm. After the funeral I went up town was into the store a few moments Mr Huebner walked home with me He went right back again Hattie went down to Uncle Jim Mc today will stay all this week I helped about the work went to bed early I was so tired. Big fire in down town tonight The Clinton house burned down Tuesday March 19th 1872 Mother did the work and then went to town in the afternoon I sewed on my overskirt got it done I have finished my dress now Mrs Ogle will have the waist done tomorrow Charlie started to Peoria today with the potatoes Jim Mason is shipping a real disagreable cold day Arth Folsom was here this evening I went to bed early
