134th thing cleaned up pretty fine. Arth Folsom was in here most of the afternoon. I had a letter from Mr H_ this morning in which he says it is probable he will not be down tomorrow. Tuesday December 31st 1872 I did up the work this morning and dressed myself in my new wrapper sat down to sew, about eleven oclock I took a great notion to go to town, so I put on a waterproof and went I got a letter from Mr Huebner it will be impossible for him to be here tonight from the P.O. I went up to Mrs Chalfants and answered his letter I met Mrs Smith on the street she told me that Lucy was to be married tomorrow and asked me to be present I came on home and sewed all the afternoon and evening. And now ends the year 1872 I can not attempt to recapitulate all the events of this year though they are so fresh in my mind, I thank God for life and health, and pray that the
