for men must not think for come acts either of outward or inward Piety; to Compound with god for ye neglect of mercy & Judgment or so demand it as A right from men to be excused from ye great dutyes & Vertues of Humane Conversation; or pretend to be above them because they relate Chiefly to this World, & to the Temporal happiness of men, as if it were ye priviledge of great Devotion to give a license to me to be Peevish & froward, [fomer?] & morose supercilious & censorious in their behaviour towards others: men must have a great care; that they be not intent upon ye outward parts of Religion, to ye prejudice of inward and real goodness & that they do not so use ye mean as Religion, as to neglect & lose ye main end of it;
