January, SATURDAY, 31, 1863. Recd a letter from George Henderson informing me for first time that Davids foot has been amputated. I feel alone in the service now, Thomas Dead, & David disabled. Cold High wind February, SUNDAY, 1. I got a letter from Jane She has got none from me & I have sent 4 letters. David considered dangereous foot amputated Monday 26th. Went to [Counlite?] Church. very windy & cold. MONDAY, 2. Making out muster & pay Rolls for Company "C" & monthly report. got a letter from G. L. Durno David some better I felt so pleased about it that I went to theatre with S. B. Card.
