April, WEDNESDAY, 1, 1863. I mailed a letter to Jane yesterday. We had an Election of Company officers today G. W. Cook 1' D. W. Reed 2d Lieutenant & W. L. Henderson orderly Sgt. J. F. Hutchins 2 Sgt and Courier P. B. Ketchum. P. R. Woods F. W. Moine, J. E. Kent, J D. Baker, E. Comstok & H. C. Curtis Corporals. THURSDAY, 2. Mailed a letter to David, & one to Bella Henderson & Augey Kerr with a ring for each FRIDAY, 3. I wrote a letter to Jane to day. I entered on the duties of 1st Sergeant to day. My Promotion dates back to June 8th Eight 1862 J. J. Woods Col Commanding
