Before Vicksburgh June, MONDAY, 15, 1863. I am Reading the Legend of Montrose, Scot, got a few Blackberries that our Boys Brought in. firing not Heavey along the Lines to day. Cool with ligh showers. TUESDAY, 16. Wrote a letter to Jane Wm Lyons & S. Beek Came to Regt from Duck port. signed the Pay Rolls to day. Reading what open time I have in Bible & other Books. some rain. WEDNESDAY, 17. Signed the Pay Rolls. Had General Inspection. I got a Letter from Jane dated June 1" & one from G. L. Durno Dated June 7". The Rebels are shelling us To day.
