56 Black River Miss Feby 25th 1864 Thursday 4 Companies of the 12th were out on Picket, and we had an easy time today without drill. I got a letter from Mrs C. J. Henderson today. The peach Trees have been in bloom for 3 weeks past, and the Temprature is as mild as Summer in Latitude 42 on Mississipippi River
