60 Black River Bridge Feby 29th 1864 Monday We were mustered for pay today by Lieut Colonel of the 8th Iowa. I went over to the Camp of the Detachment of Recruits & got a pass for James Henderson to come & stop with me a whil. a very Heavey Rain storm tonight. Recd. a paper from McGregor tonight. quite cold weather
