124 Gen. Hosp Davenport May 3d 1864 Tuesday wrote a letter to Mrs. C. J. Henderson. It is very pleasant & warm today, & the Souix Indians Held Here as Hostages for the good behavior of the Tribe are employed in the Hospital Gardens & on all Fatigue work about the Camp, they work diligently & willingly to all appearances. left my watch to be cleaned yesterday at William Rutenbeck's
