132 Gen Hospl. Camp McLellan Davenport Ia May 11th 1864 Wensday I Recd. a very short note from David this morning in which I learn again that our Friends are all well. I got the Chicago Journal of yesterday giving some unsatisfactory accounts of Grants Battles with Lee. our forces are by all accounts successfull, and a speedy Capture of the Rebel Capitol is looked for, & certainly Hoped for
