177 Tenn Wolf River Bridge June 25th 1864 Saturday I Recd a letter from G. L. Durno all well & Elsie Mill is Coming back there from Iowa. I gave in our armament for this month Total No of guns 44 Capt Cook came back from Memphis today J. F. Hutchins was in command of Co one day. I was one day untill Cook came. The 2 Companies of 12th A & F had a Battle last Wensday at White River 48 aginst 600 and the Rebels under Marmaduke Defeated with loss of 20 men our loss 1 Killed & 3 wounded
