231 Cannot Cooperate with us, as yet But they are at work removing torpedoes and working up slowly. The 2d Iowa Battery & 3d Ind Battery were scilenced to day by the Forts Guns, the works being insuficent for their Protection But our works are being Continualy strenthend. Many shells was thrown over us & at us today. The place is now Closely invested by our forces, except on the Bay front.
