242 stories in the afternoon, the Rebels are shelling our Camp today with 8 & 10 inch Mortars they have good range but they Burst their shells High which is favorable for us. If the war Closes by the 1st of Jan 1866 I will owe Sergt Hutchins and Corpl Jordan a Dinner if not Hutchins will owe said Dinner to us as per agrement when discussing the probable duration of the war Mortar shells are droping in our Camp from Fort
