249 a very Heavy Boombardment of the Enemy by all our Batteries. and as we were on the Front line and in under the fire of the Converging Batteries Both of Friend & foe. and for Two Hours the Heaviest storm of shells passed over us I have ever experienced The Enemy guns were silenced under our Converging fire. and the Boombardment stoped at dark except our mortars which [resumed?] the shells untill midnight
