280 Montgomery Alabama April 26th 1865 Wedensday I finished a letter to Mrs Henderson to day But could not mail it as our Communications are not open, Reading Headlys Life of Washington to day. On Account of this Command being out of Supplies many Private foraging Parties went across the River and had some rencontres with Gen. Forrests Scouts no Casualites ocurred as the Rebels did not fire
