10 Selma May 24th 1865 Wedensday The weather is most intensely hot during the day; and consequently very productive of Fruit, Flower, & Folliage. A Reaction is taking place amongst the people of this District who are begining to pursue some employment for the procurement of the necessaries of life, Wilson appropriated nearly all the 1st Class stock in the country which makes it necessary for the Citizens to make use of old & broken down animals old crazy and dilapidated Vehicles. and it is not an unusual sight to see the fair Daughters of the [?] peddling milk, butter, berries &c seated
