Selma Ala May 25" 1865 Thursday I, wrote a letter to T. J. Henderson and one to Miss Angy Kerr to day. A boat Came up last night bringing our Commissary Supplies a large proportion of which is Hard tack. so we Cannot get flour now that we have good brick ovens. Whiskey is a great Staple amongst the Commissary Suplies. the last named article is not issued to the men, but is sold to the officers who use it quite freely, and as a consequence often kneel at the shrine of Bacchus in a very undignified manner
