21 Selma Ala June 3d 1865 Saturday Capt Reed is Detailed on Special duty on a Court Martial, and I again took Command of Company June 1st Read the life of Marshal's Augereau and Davout, also Marshal St Cyr, who all possessed the impetuous daring & much of genius resembling their great Chief. I Recd Two letters to day. one from C. J. Henderson of Date May 10 - 12 & 19th. Also one letter from D. R. Henderson dated May 19th I mailed a letter to C. J. Henderson also, one to D. M. Henderson. This has been the warmest day of the season
