19 grieved at His loss. I advanced Him $2.00 & Hutchin = ,, $1.00 which seemed to relieve His imediate wants. the loss of their Children seem to Call forth in the Negro more of that Christian faith and resignation to such dispensations than the same Calamities affect the White race, for the Negro allmost invariably Console themselves with the thought that the Child is better of with God; and escaped the miseries peculiar to their race, by early deaths.
