39 Selma Ala Aug 13" 1865 Sunday My fever is evidently broke temporarly and appitite returning. I wrote a letter to Father & Mother. The News to day is that 5 per cent of the army are to be furloughed which would indicate a leanthened term of Service, that is if it applys to the Volunteer forces, & Comes from Washington. The $25 00 Regt fund paid to Major Knee Aug 7" was re funded to me to day by Surgeon Underwood, for quinine
