42 Selma Ala Aug 16" 1865 Wedensday Releived from duty this morning at 8" I prefered Charges against Wm Gardner Co. B 12" Iowa for being absent without leave from 8" to 3 oclock on the night of the 15" Sergt. J. W. Ward Co. H 12 Iowa reported Him to me as Ward had Charge of the prison Guard. Ward & W. Wait are the Witnesses in this Case. D.W.Reed Capt is Here today as the Brigades are broke up He may soon be releived. Corpl. Jordan is very Sick to day
