44 Selma Ala. Aug 18" 1865 Friday Inspection ordered this morning at 8 oclock but Major Pope failed to Come on Account of Sickness, A man is very apt to have His turn of the prevailing fever in Spite of all appointments. A Captain of the 47" Ill Infty fell to the pavement from the 3d Story of Miss Maggie [Marsthells?] a House of ill fame. He mistook the window (which was a low one) for a door & walked right out & fell on His Head & hands. His life is despaired off (Vertically, at left:-) paid [order?] [S O?] 3 to Mathews Regt Baker $35,50
