60 Selma Ala Sept 1st 1865 Friday Most intensely Hot weather yesterday & today so that the last day of the Summer was the Hottest of the Season which maintained its reputation to the last of being the Hottest Summer in a Number of years. I Made out another of the Muster Rolls to day. Major S. G. Knee took His New position as Provost Marshall of Selma to day. Capt Fuller of Co. V. took Command of the Regt. 108 men of the Regt. Sick of 400 present Mostly of Chill fever's
