62 Selma Ala Sept 3d 1865 Sunday read quite a piece of Jewish History this morning in Deuteronomy where Moses enjoins on the Jews obedience to the law. 18 men in Co. C. Sick this morning, and at Inspection this morning I was [relieved?] to See that the men & their Quarters were quite Clean. So that the Sickness is the result of night exposure on Provost Duty in the City. Rec'd per mail one letter from James Henderson one letter from Mrs. Jane Durno Ills. I wrote a letter to Mrs J Henderson
