18 Selma Ala. June 26th. 1865 Monday I have finished reading the life of Robt. Burns, and I cannot but witsh that a 10 part of the attention had been paid to Him while living that has been lavished on Him Dead, so that He might have redeemed His errors, & Established His many virtues by leaving behind Him brighter & more mature records of His darling genius, We have this evening made the discovery that Addison L. Brown of Co. C. has Deserted. & started for Home we supose
