15 Talladega Ala Sept 30th 1865 Saturday This is quite a lonesome Camp and rendered more so as there is no Duty to do of any Consequence, onely the Q.M.guards which require no Commissioned Officers. The Movement from Selma to this place has had quite a bad effect with regard the health of the Regt. as I am informed By Jas Barr ([illegible] Stewart now in Charge of Regt as Doctor) that the ague has relapsed on those who had it formerly at Selma besides Many New Cases. The cold nights and poor shelters is a Suficient explanation Corpl Jordan and Jas. Henderson went to Hunt to day. they Brought back (Vertically, from bottom right:-) S. B. Card in a state of Drunkeness bordering on Insanity as He also had gone to Hunt & found a Distillery
