68 Center Ala Nov 15" 1865 Wedensday Finished reading "Monedern Chivalry" a Satyrical work by H. H. Brackenridge. Standerfor the Judge of [Probate?] is making out a Report of Indigent Families in this County and there is over 1000 persons in that Condition in this County, they have not the means of living untill the next Crop is made many of them the Widows of Soldiers who Died in the Army during the late war, The Govt. will have to issue Rations those people, and this is doubtless the object of the Report.
