6 Center Ala Dec 1st, 1865 Friday I had a very [fracture?] bleeding of the nose today but as I felt better after I supose it was the cure of a Disease more than a Disease in itself. The pine woods are on fire in this vicinity and the pine smoke was so dense even in doors that it was very Disagreable and even painfull for the eyes, I am still reading the Queen of England, Elisabeth Daughter of Henry 8", Ann of Denmark wife of Jame 1st. Henrietta Marie Daughter of Henry 4 " of France & wife of Charles the 1st of England. 7.
