5 Oct 6th Fayette Co Iowa 1861 today the Company formed into line and marched to Church and heard a sermon from Mr. Miller of Fayette 7 JB Henderson and myself started out recruiting we had a meeting at Auburn of Fayette Co and after we adresse the people the roll was oppened and ten men enrolled their names [six?] of whom were married
