53 Oct 29 Dubuque Co. Iowa 1861 when it arrived for I had just arose from the table not only with an appetite but very hungry our scanty rations being insufiecent to satisfy our hunger we also recieved a fine lot of Hickory nuts as I supose from the same source which reminds me of the social circle at home and the long evenings of nut cracking
