121 1861 Nov 25 Dubuque Co Iowa We Rcvd 5 days Rations of meat & groceries & two days Rations of Bread Because we have Recd [illegible] orders to go to St. Louis & the meat has to be all cooked up to eat on the way 26 We Recd two more days Rations of Bread and orders to pack our provisions & knapsacks so as to start tomorrow on the boats
