128 Nov 30th Illinois Town 1861 the train of cars on which we traveled Reached Illinois Town opisit St. Louis at daylight this morning and crossed over to St. Louis at 2 oclock P.M. and Marched to Benton Barracks a distance of 4 or 5 miles from the levee we were greeted by the shouts of the children and the smiles of the Ladies and from the Union men Humor for the Iowa Boys
