178 25 St Louis Mo 1861 I wrote and mailed a letter to Jane today our cooks got up a Christmas supper today of oysters the Company Bot 9 cans of oysters and the crackers Butter and trimings We Bot with money recd for surplus on back rations of coffee greans etc. etc. I swallowed two oysters and eat a good deal of the soup the first I over eat
