194 Jan 12 St Louis Mo 1862 when reading the Chicago Tribune it stated amongst the abuse our prisoners was receving from the Rebels was crowding 100 men in rooms 40 X 60 We in Benton Barracks are crowded 200 men in a room 30 X 60 so in respect to quarters our prisoners are better treated than we are
