12 Collierville Tenn July 24th 1864 Sunday The Rebels made a raid in the vicinity of Forest Hill where two Companies of the 46th Iowa Regt were stationed under command of Liet. Col [illegible] A fight ensued with a Detachment of those two companies in which Capt Wolf of Co I 46th was badly wounded & some 4 or 5 men were prisoners. Col Henderson reinforced the Lieut. Col with two more Companies & the Rebels were driven off. I & James Henderson made ready to participate in the fight. But the Rebs left so we came on to our comands at Memphis
