63 Brownsville Arkansas Sept 13th. 1864 Tuesday I wrote a letter to Jane to day. Cleaned up Round our Tent. Read some short stories and verses in the novelette, Had some Political talks with Comrads, Mr McElvain told some of His inimatible stories one about Tom Marshall & the very Romatic young Lady who talked about moon Light, the milky way &c, Mr. Toots of Paducah who played off green with the Lady passengers &c. Very Hot weather continued.
